Van 3 t/m 8 maart vond weer de ISLI plaats in Oberwesel, Duitsland.
Kirsten van Luttikhuizen heeft een stukje geschreven over haar week bij ISLI. Er waren 12 deelnemers en 2 regents (deelnemers van vorig jaar die zijn gekozen om de seminar te organiseren) van onze school aanwezig. Danielle Veenker, een leerlinge uit 4V, is gekozen om volgend jaar terug te komen als regent. Dat is een hele eer.

About ISLI
Hello everyone!
The reason I’m writing this in English is because I had the honour of being one of the participants of ISLI 2024! ISLI stands for International Student Leadership Institute. As the name suggests, it is an international event where this year students from 8 different countries came together to learn about leadership. ISLI is a week where you learn all the ins and outs of what it takes to be a good leader! ISLI is organised by a Director, Board Members, Colour Group Facilitators, Regents and Senior Regents. But ISLI is so much more! It’s about learning to recruit and empower others, about learning to encourage others and building coalitions. It’s about building trust, having and achieving a vision, clarifying values, taking risks and inspiring others. And at the end of the day, it is about celebrating what you have achieved, which is called success! But most of all, it is about becoming a leader who is as good at leading as at communicating, getting things done and building coalitions! Another big part of ISLI is team building, not only with your roommates or colour group, but also with the other cultures, learning about other cultures, and being inspired by them! The spoken language is English, because every country teaches English in school. Sometimes it is a challenge, but it breaks the language barrier so that we can communicate better and be a better and stronger coalition.
ISLI is a place where time flies, a place of inspiration and learning, a place where participants are prepared to be the leaders of tomorrow! Something many, including myself, can agree on is that the person you are when you enter ISLI will never be the same! ISLI is an amazing and life-changing experience that I, and I think many others, will carry with us for the rest of our lives and that can help us as people and leaders in the future. ISLI has inspired me so much and has also given me the chance to find my true self and the confidence to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be! ISLI is a place to meet amazing people. Many of them I can call my friends! the only thing left is a piece of advice: If you get the chance to go to ISLI, take it with both hands!!
ISLI has been an amazing experience I will never forget! Something I will carry with me for the rest of my life!
